Weekend Reads #4

Happy Weekend Readers! How great is it to finally have Friday coming around again. Unfortunately I am working tomorrow but I am planning on doing nothing this weekend but getting stuck into a new book. I finished The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines during the week and posted up a review about it yesterday.

As I have a clean slate for a new book I am planning on starting The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell and getting stuck into it over the weekend with an excessive amount of tea. So look out for a review next week. The Carrie Diaries follows the life of Carrie Bradshaw, the same Carrie Bradshaw from The Sex in the City books and TV series. However this is Carrie in her adolescent years, dealing with the problems of homework, boys and the possibility of college. I have been following the life of Carrie Bradshaw throughout the TV series made about the book and really enjoyed it, so I’m hoping that the book will be better since that is the general rule.

I have also managed to get hold of an e-copy of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and am currently reading it off my phone when I get the chance due to so many people recommending it. So far I am taking my time with The Hunger Games but I am really enjoying it, the suspense leading up to the games is intense and I am finding it difficult to process how everyone in the book accepts this mass bloodshed. As someone who hasn’t even seen the movie I’m enjoying the mystery that lies ahead although I’m not sure if I can shield my eyes from the spoilers across the internet. Hopefully I can get a bit more read of it over the weekend when I want a change from the life of Carrie Bradshaw and crave something a little darker.

So have a great weekend with whatever you are planning to do!
