What can I say, I just love this series and I think it’s safe to admit to my addiction so…
‘Hello, my name is Samantha and I am addicted to Amulet.’
I have actually ordered the rest of the series now and I can’t wait for them to get here. They are so easy to read and despite taking less than an hour to get through it is amazing how much of an experience the novel can be. The accompaniment of the illustrations helps you to imagine the setting and feel the characters emotions because of their facial expressions. As the plot deepens and the setting become more vast and exotic the illustrations become increasingly beautiful and make me slightly jealous that even my stick men lack artistic qualities.
Since this is the third book in the series the plot has well and truly got underway and the characters are left questioning even more who are friends and who are foes. With new personalities being introduced and more responsibility to carry, Emily wonders who she really can trust to help her meet her infinite goal of saving Alledia.
So far I love all of the characters and am slightly fonder of the house inhabitants such as Cogsley and Miskit for their sheer determination and uniqueness as characters. Any plot that has robots and a mechanical, cute rabbit would win me over. Not to mention the fearsome elves threatening the peace of Alledia and the powerful Amulet that risks taking control of Emily, this plot has everything you could want and more in a book.
As I have said many times before I would recommend this series to the graphic novel lovers or anyone looking to try something a bit different in the book world. I am giving Book Three a solid 4 out of 5 on goodreads, it is as good if not better than the previous two and I just know so much more lies ahead in the plot.
