And so it begins, today is the first day of the Bout of Books Read-A-Thon and I am prepared with the books at the ready. So today’s Daily Reads post is generally a look ahead at the books I am hoping to read during the Read-A- Thon. I will be doing a Weekend Reads post toward the end of the week to have a look at the books I’m planning on reading over the course of the weekend and the last stretch of the Read-A-Thon.
But first I had such a ball at the Holi One Festival, and would definitely recommend it to anyone so keep an eye out for one near you. It was so much fun and despite the horrible rain towards the end of the night everyone went home a new shade of yellow, orange and pink.
Anyway onto the books I plan on reading this week, because I am working all week and weekend I will no doubt struggle to get a lot of reading time during the evenings but I’m setting the bar high Holi festival 7with great intentions.
Prodigy – Marie Lu
This is the follow on from Legend and I cannot wait to see what direction the plot goes, I need another series in my life to obsess over so I’m excited to start this.
June is missing, she is an agent and was last seen helping the city’s most dangerous fugitive escape. She has ran away with Day and she now knows the truth about the Republic, she’s lost her family and now she refuses to lose Day.
Champion – Marie Lu
This is the third book in the Legend series and the final book in the series so no doubt this one will engulf me in a cloud of action and plot twists. Hopefully after reading Prodigy I’ll be too excited and head straight into this one.
June and Day must save their country but there are prices to pay and every action comes with consequences. Should Day sacrifice all he has for the sake of the country?
Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
This one has been all over the internet and I’m excited to read it because I have loved every last one of Rainbow Rowell’s books so far. I expect great things from this and can’t wait to get stuck in.
Identical twins Cath and Wren are a team who do everything together but when they head off to college, Wren wants to experience the student life, dance, meet boys and make friends whilst Cath wants to disappear into her romantic fanfiction. It’s not easy for Cath but now she must make the decision if she’s ready for new experiences, new people and to learn more about love.
Anna and the French Kiss – Stephanie Perkins
I’m excited about reading this one because it has been featured all over the book blogging world. It sounds like the perfect romantic YA read and it’s definitely what I need for a quiet August evening and a cup of tea.
Anna knows nothing about France, she knows there’s an Eiffel Tower and she’s watched Amelie but now she is going to Paris, to live in a boarding school for a year, alone. She had everything planned out, heading into senior year with her best friend, a good job and a boy within her grasp, now she over 4000 miles away in a country where she doesn’t even know the language.
Will she make friends and land the French kiss she had hoped for in Paris?
Throughout the week there will also be some reviews going up from the books I read over the weekend and last week so keep checking back for them. I might do some progress posts during the week and it would also be great to see how everyone else is doing so don’t be afraid to comment below. What are you planning on reading this week?
