This past weekend I headed to the bookstore to use the last of my vouchers from Christmas. At first I was a little disappointed and thought I wasn’t getting anywhere because every book I tried to find was sold out. Then my luck changed and I could have spent a lot of money as usual but I did very well given I had a voucher and didn’t have to put a lot to it. So below is my book haul, mostly from the weekend and some books I had ordered online which arrived then. Overall it was an amazing book-ish weekend and I was very sad to see it end.
The Summer I Turned Pretty – Jenny Han
I really wanted this book, however I might leave it until summer before I pick it up. It seems like a perfect read for a sunny day.
Coraline and Other Stories – Neil Gaiman
Neverwhere – Neil Gaiman
I am becoming a massive fan of Neil Gaiman, I loved The Graveyard Book and have been wanting to read Coraline ever since I first saw the movie. As Unusual as it is, I can’t stop thinking about it and could easily watch it over and over again.
City of Bones– Cassandra Clare
City of Ashes – Cassandra Clare
I know I am late to the game with the mortal instruments series but I now own the first two and the infernal devices series so I have no excuse but to give them a go.
The Walking Dead – Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore
I have been dying to get my hands on this graphic novel as I haven’t watched the series or read the books despite owning them. I’m super excited to check this out so chances are I will read it in the next few weeks.
The following books are the ones that arrived by post over the weekend, I love nothing more than opening up the packaging and revealing a new book;
A Song of Fire and Ice Collection – George R.R. Martin
I really want to get into this series as once again I haven’t watched the TV adaptation and I know how popular it is. Has anyone any words of encouragement?
My True Love Gave To Me – Edited by Stephanie Perkins
I know this books is basically a Christmas Read but from the minute I took it out of the packaging I just wanted to read it. It’s such a pretty edition and I have wanted to read it since I found out about it on goodreads and other blogs.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Stephen Chbosky
I have heard mixed reviews about this book but thought I would read it myself and make up my mind. It seems to be a questionable book from the description so I’m really interested to see which direction the plot goes in.
I hope you enjoy this book haul as much as I did. With the books I received at Christmas and the books I was able to buy with vouchers I shouldn’t need anymore for the rest of the year but no doubt it won’t be long until I’m out buying more.
