The weekend is only a few hours away and yet is it so far but for any avid readers I have good news for you; it’s another weekend of read-a-thons. So if you are looking to cram a bit more reading into the end of the month, now is the perfect time to start.
Saturday the 24th of January is National Readathon Day in America but that doesn’t mean that you can’t participate. Unfortunately I am working this Saturday but I will be making the most of that evening by relaxing with a book. National Readathon Day is run by a plethora of people and brings awareness of the increasing number of people who aren’t reading or who are illiterate and unable to read. Penguin Random House, GoodReads, Mashable, and the National Book Foundation are all supporting others reading efforts in the hope to raise money and awareness to help get more people reading. So if you enjoy reading definitely check this out and maybe you can help others by doing something you enjoy too.
If you are after more than a few hours of motivated reading then you are in luck. The blog, Trees of Reverie is running another read-a-thon this weekend from Saturday at 12:00 until Monday at 23:59.More details are laid out below from the site;
The Trees of Reverie 72 HR Read-A-Thon will start at 12AM on Saturday, 24th of January and finish at 11:59PM on Monday, 26th January in your preferred time zone. This Read-A-Thon is held across all social media sites and is open to anyone who wishes to participate. There will be Bookish Challenges, Book Giveaways and lots of opportunities to interact with and get to know other booklovers.
If you’d like to find out how you can get reading with this event, please visit Trees of Reverie for more details.
You can officially register for this read-a-thon up until midday on Sunday and there are lots of different ways to do this.
This is exactly what I need to help give myself that extra kick in the right direction for this month. I have a lot of reviews to get uploaded and a few books to finish this weekend. With that in mind I will be posting my official TBR for this weekend tomorrow before the read-a-thons begin. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and a very happy reading one.
