Daily Reads #43

The past weekend was insane that I am only getting the chance to write now. Something pretty exciting happened too on Saturday that is book related so I can’t wait to explain all below.

So this week I will be writing up Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. Without giving too much away I really enjoyed this book and it blew my mind. It was one of those books that you start reading and before you know it 3 days have passed…obviously this is supposed to be a joke but any reader will understand what I mean.

I will also be finishing up Where She Went by Gayle Forman, I haven’t had a chance to really start reading this book just yet so I want to take some time out to read it properly.

Then by chance another book was thrown into the mix on Saturday with an unusual but pretty epic find. When I was finishing up work on Saturday I noticed something sitting in the Exhibition area of the Planetarium. When I went over I found this book:

unnamed

The book is called Cities of the Plain by Cormac McCarthy; however it is the third book in a trilogy. It was a pretty epic find and I have never seen this website before but I have been on and registered the book on bookcrossing.com. As this is a book that you read and then pass on by leaving it in a public place, I am hoping to start reading this book as soon as possible and then leave it in a place for someone else to enjoy too. I’m wary about reading something that is part of a trilogy yet I feel it is only fair to continue with the original purpose of the book.

Has anyone read this and if so what did you think?

Or has anyone used bookcrossing.com before?

I hope your week is going well and keep on reading!
