Once again we’re back to my favourite time of the week…the weekend. As I’m working part of this weekend, I will only be able to relax and read on Saturday night and Sunday but anytime to sit down with a books and a cup of tea is great.
This weekend I want to continue on with the graphic novel side of things and venture into Persepolis and Persepolis 2 by Marjane Satrapi. This book is Marjane’s memoir about growing up in Iran during the revolution. She’s tells of her life and growing up in Tehran as the Shah’s regime was overthrown. I am really looking forward to reading this as I don’t know a lot of information about the Islamic Revolution and how it affected individuals. However I am interested in the Middle East and expanding my knowledge on it so this will combine my love of reading graphic novels and give me an insight into a topic I don’t fully understand.
I also want to continue reading Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira, I am really enjoying this book so far and find it very unusual and interesting. It is also very emotional and nothing like anything I have ever read before. I am looking forward to getting some time to read this book at the weekend and see what direction the plot goes.
Well I hope everyone has a great weekend and happy reading!
