Weekend Reads #64

Happy Weekend Readers!

So if you’re like me and you’ve managed to get off work this Saturday and Sunday then its only a couple of hours until work ends. I cannot wait as I really need to relax this weekend and I plan to do so with a mountain of books on one side and a teapot on the other with the cat probably sprawled out over my knees no doubt.

This weekend, not only do I want to finish up Carry On by Rainbow Rowell and We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han, I also want to start reading Vicious by V.E. Schwab. This is a book that I have had on my TBR shelf from last Christmas and like so many others just haven’t got round to reading yet. The plot sounds amazing and already filled with tension and suspense as it follows two boys with a shared interest in adrenaline and near death experiences, so I’m already on the edge of my seat. I read The Archived and The Unbound by V.E. Schwab so I am hoping this will have the same unique characteristics and easy flowing plot. I’ve heard so much about A Darker Shade of Magic across the online book world too so I’m thinking this is a book that needs to make its way onto my shelves, maybe even over Christmas.

If I get the chance to pick up another book over the weekend which is a slim chance I would like to read the second book in the Shadow and Bone series by Leigh Bardugo, Siege and Storm. This is a hugely addictive read with the characters, the magic and different societies and I really want to get back into it. I read Shadow and Bone a few months back and loved it so much that I recommended it to friends but I never got round to reading the rest of the series. So i’m hoping this weekend will allow me the time to just relax and read.

So have a good weekend readers and make the most of it.
