Daily Reads #76

Happy Monday readers,

I had such a great weekend it’s a pity to be back to work so soon, although this weekend was short I made the most of my Sunday off and went to see the Jungle Book live action. It was very good and stuck more to the book than the Disney original animated movie. I really enjoyed it but can honestly say there were some bits that were jumpy and I nearly leapt out of my seat. There were some tense moments that built you up and as soon as the music was changing I just knew something was going to happen. I didn’t see the two hours fly in and can honestly recommend it to anyone interested.

This week we have the readathons and I don’t have many horror novels in my house so I’m hoping to reread Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs because I know the movie is coming out soon. Also I want to read the next two books in the series and before I do I want to read the first book to refresh my memory.

Also sticking to my monthly TBR I want to start reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I don’t know much about this book other than it being centred around two boys called Aristotle and Dante and their friendship. I am really intrigued to read this book as I know it has made a lot of noise in the book world and people really enjoyed it.

Well I hope everyone has a great week, I know I am hoping to get back on track this week and build myself back up to full health; so lots of reading and taking it easy in hot baths for me this week.

Now I can’t wait to see Jungle Book!
I’m halfway through Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and I don’t think I’d call it a horror novel, but it’s excellent so far!
    Thanks for sharing!

I agree, wouldn’t call it a horror but it can be kind of creepy in places and it’s the closest I have this week! Haha It’s so good, hope you’re enjoying it! 🙂

I really am! And yes, there are some creepy parts. (I’m thinking here about the scene in the basement of the house, haunted with the children, before Jacob learns all the truth… That gave me the chills ahah

Me too! It was incredibly creepy, I remember reading it at night time by myself and getting really freaked out! Haha
