Happy Friday Readers,
It’s finally the weekend and I can’t wait to have time to myself. I am off this weekend and I’m holding out for some well-deserved rest and relaxation. It’s also an exciting weekend as I have lots planned on the Saturday such as trying on my wedding dress.
This weekend I will be focusing on wrapping up April and starting into my May TBR. I love starting off a new list of books and seeing what’s ahead. I am always biting off more than I can chew and because of this I am just finishing off The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. This is a really great read, I am so hooked on it and I can’t wait to see what happens. It’s a really deep and addictive, mysterious read and I am so drawn to this style and setting. I am really enjoying it and because of it’s deep plot I am taking my time getting through each detail.
Apart from finishing The Miniaturist I also want to start reading Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge, this is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast which is by far one of my favourite classic stories. From what I have gathered from the blurb, Nyx is a seventeen year old girl promised to the beast of her kingdom because of a promise her father made. She has been in training to eventually kill the beast after earning his trust but she finds he isn’t what she expected, setting her on a journey to reveal the truth. I think it’s clear to say I am already hooked on this plot.
So I am once again holding out for 5pm when I can head home and begin my weekend of fun and reading. Hope you all have a great weekend planned.
