Like many of you I am always motivated and ready to tackle my TBR at the start of the month but it isn’t long until life comes along and swallows up your free time and carefree thinking. I always try to make time for reading because I know it’s the few times of the week when I can put everything else on the backburner and get lost in a world other than my own. So I have been doing a bit of searching and have come across some motivation for this month, to help up get through those pages and put some me-time back into our daily lives. For more information on each readathon just click on the title of picture.
Running from 9th May until 15th May so there’s still time to pick up the books and see how much you can read. I have signed up and am hoping to read like a champion over the next few days finishing up any books I am currently reading and making a good dent in my May TBR. This readathon also has challenges and fun activities to try each day so follow the link and check it out.
In the United States May is Mental Health Awareness month so this readathon raises awareness of mental health, something that is very important and deserves recognition. This readathon takes place between the 16th and 22nd of May, which is also Mental Health Awareness week here in the UK. This Readathon has challenges such as read a book with a green on the cover, read a book with a main character that has a mental illness and read a non-fiction book about mental health or mental illness. This sounds like a great readathon that not only will help readers pick books of their shelves or open their minds to new authors.
This is a fun readathon run by Penguin Random House that also benefits the Every Child Ready to Read initiative which supports literacy development in children across libraries in the US. It’s a fun way to do what you love and help out a cause. This will be taking place on the 21st of May 2016 and more information can be found on their site, I’m sure you can decide how long to read for and whether you want to do it in groups or by yourself.
Well readers, I hope this helps. There are so many other readathons taking place this month however I have picked out the few that I will be taking part in or will be reading along with. I know that readathons in the past have helped to give me that kick in the right direction so here’s hoping this post will help others too.
