Happy Friday Readers,
I am really looking forward to this weekend; so far I have no plans other than work tomorrow and that is it, so I can’t wait to chill out with a nice glass of wine on Saturday night and a great book. Sometimes you just need to take some time out from doing anything and have a relaxing weekend to catch up on your thoughts and get lost in the plot leaving your own life behind.
This weekend I am hoping to start reading Love and Other Monsters by Michele Barard. This is a relatively new book of poetry so I can’t even find it on goodreads to mark in my ‘Currently Reading’ pile. It is a book of poetry about love from the perspective of three women in different situations. One girl new to romantic relationships, one experiencing heartbreak and a middle ages woman who has lost in love and looks to seek happiness. It comes across as an empowering and exploratory look at relationships through the eyes of a woman. I haven’t read much poetry in the past year too so this will be a nice change to my usual reading style of novels.
I am also reading Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge, very slowly while I finish up the other books I’m reading so this weekend I will be concentrating on reading and writing for the blog.
So I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a great reading one.
