Daily Reads #104

Happy Monday Readers,

I am starting to think this year I am destined to be ill, I went to work happy and healthy on Saturday morning and came home with a stuffy nose and a terrible cold. My entire weekend has been spent with a box of Kleenex under my arm and my nose now looks like a beacon.

I wasn’t able to read much over the weekend because my blocked sinuses were giving me a headache but I’m hoping to get back on track this week. February is a shorter month but I’m determined this won’t stop me from reading as much as I did last month.

This week I want to continue reading and finishing up some books on my currently reading list, Cutting Back by Leslie Buck, Nasty Women by 404 Ink, The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware and Nineveh by Henrietta Rose-Innes. I’m about halfway through all of these books so I want to dedicate time to finishing them.

I will also be starting Born a Crime by Trevor Noah this week, I have really been looking forward to reading this book. Trevor Noah was born in South Africa during apartheid to a Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother. Having a relationship between a black and white individual during this time could have ended up with 5 years in prison so no doubt his life would have been difficult. This book tells the story of how Trevor Noah started his life in South Africa and ended up in America and as a presenter on the well-known Daily Show. Personally I don’t know anything about the Daily Show and don’t know much about Trevor Noah, however I am intrigued about his life, growing up and the challenges he faced.

I hope you all have a great reading week.

Aww sorry to hear you’re I’ll. Maybe drink some garlic tea. That often helps with a cold or blocked sinuses.
I’d like to read Born a Crime as well. I might do so in March since I have a bunch of books going at once now.

I’ve never heard of garlic tea?! I’m intrigued though, I love garlic!!! I’m very excited to read it, hoping to start it in a few days! 😊

It’s really good, health-wise. I love to cook with garlic but I don’t like it much otherwise because of the strong scent. The tea helps a lot though.

I love garlic so I’m shocked I’ve never tried the tea!! I know you can get capsules like a vitamin but tea is taking it to a whole new level. I’m gonna see if I can get some 😊
