Happy Monday Readers,
I had a crazy weekend between outdoor pursuits and dancing I don’t think I can lift myself off the sofa, but of course it was all in the name of fun and I had a brilliant time with some great friends. In saying that, I am now in the mood for a big mug of tea, some quality time with my books and lots of rest to prepare for the week ahead. I am very excited about this week’s read because I am picking up The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee.
After visiting New York last Christmas I have been mourning the city and dying to get back so I’m hoping this will settle my cravings just like Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar did last month. Katherine McGee was working as an editor in New York when she wrote this book so I am hoping she has captured the charm and uniqueness of the city in this futuristic novel.
Set in Manhattan in 2118 and centred on a thousand floor building that embodies the dream-life and luxury of this futuristic world, the plot follows 5 teenagers whose lives intertwine in a dystopian New York City. I have to admit I find this book a little intimidating as the writing is small and it’s pretty dense, but all the same I can’t wait to read it.
Well readers have a great week and happy reading!
