Happy Monday Readers,
Over here in the UK its’ the Easter holidays so lots of children are off school and my work is crazy. The bonus is that the weather is changing and getting warmer so hopefully I will get a nice day to take my books outside and make the most of the warm weather.
This week I want to start reading Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, this book has got a lot of attention after being turned into a Netflix show with the support of Selena Gomez. It came out a few days ago and before I can sit down and watch it I want to read the book.
I have heard mixed reviews about this book, some people saying its strange being told from the perspective of a girl who committed suicide whilst others enjoyed it and found it interesting. I can’t wait to make up my mind about it and get started reading it. Of course I can already tell it’s going to be an important read given the big theme of teenage suicide and the reasons for committing it, I’m interested to see how the other characters are portrayed and how they feel knowing they contributed to someone taking their own life. Already I am interested to start this book and see how the plot develops, not only that but I’m interested in the TV portrayal as well and how it justifies the book.
Well I can’t wait to get started with this book so fingers crossed I can sit down with a mug of tea and rest after a hectic week at work.
