It’s a new month and a new reading pile has started, this week I am going to be tucking into The Future of Us by Jay Asher. Unintentionally I have read a few Jay Asher books over the past few months such as Illuminae and Thirteen Reasons Why, it’s only when I sat down to write this that I recognised the name and had a sudden realisation. This book has been in my TBR at the library for a while now and I am finally getting round to reading it.
The Future of Us is set in 1996 and follows Josh and Emma who have been best friends and neighbours all of their lives but one day Josh brings around a CD that he received in the mail. When he puts it into Emma’s computer it brings up her Facebooks page but Facebook doesn’t exist and all of a sudden they have a look into their future. As they continue living and checking back to their future insight on Facebook they realise that daily decisions they are making in the present is affecting their future.
I really like the sound of this book, it’s light-hearted and funny and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. I’m hoping that this week I will get a bit more time to read and make a dent in my TBR pile for this month not to mention wrap up a few books I started last month.
