Weekend Reads #102

It’s the weekend and can you believe Christmas is over?!

I can’t believe that’s it wrapped up for another year, I can barely remember Christmas coming in and now it’s gone and we are on the slow climb up to the New Year. I always find the days between Christmas and New Year to be a bit strange, it feels like we are all supposed to be doing something but it has never been said what that ‘something’ is. It’s like this small period of a few days when we can catch up on sleep, find our new possessions a home and gradually settle back into everyday life and all because of 2-3 days of festivities. The past few days for me have definitely been about rest and reading, two of my favourite past times and in particular I have loved looking at and reading some of my new Christmas Reads.

This weekend I want to focus on trying to clear some of my Goodreads ‘currently reading’ books. Some of these books I started back in July when I was moving house and in all of the chaos I never got round to picking them up again or in some instances even finding them amongst the boxes. Now that I am ‘nearly’ unpacked and settled I have found all of the books and have them sitting on my bedside table ready to be tackled. Only problem is my motivation is not where it was back in July for these books so I find myself reaching for something a bit different and especially now that I have a new pile of books from Christmas.

On the lead up to 2018 I have three books I want to focus on;

Rebel Belle – Rachel Hawkins

Carve the Mark – Veronica Roth

Talking As Fast As I Can – Lauren Graham

I have really been getting into these books over the past week and I want to spend my last few days of 2017 enjoying a few good books and making the most of having some time before work kicks in.

Well readers the countdown is on and it’s less than 2 days to go until the New Year so make it a good one, leave behind any problems, sadness and troubles and head into the new year with a fresh start.

Happy New Year!
